• It should be noted that, although the World Bank has a lower percentage of projects approved
and under preparation than the IDB, the total amounts are slightly higher. And if we take into
account what was said earlier regarding IDB projects that actually represent a reallocation of
funds, it is clear that in the selected period the World Bank is the institution that has committed
the largest financing amounts to Argentina.
• Another striking fact that emerges from the table is that the CABEI, with 10% of the total, is
positioned in third place as regards the highest percentage of projects approved or under
preparation for the selected period. Although it is far from both the IDB and the World Bank in
number of projects, it is striking that it is positioned above regional institutions such as CAF or
FONPLATA, which generally have a broader portfolio of projects with the country, especially
CAF. Additionally, CABEI is not considered one of the main funders of development projects
for Argentina.
• Projects approved and under preparation correspond to a wide variety of sectors, although
the sectors of Health4 (24%; 11 projects), Transport5, Law & Government6 and Social Protection7
(13%; 6 projects each) and Financial Markets8 (11%; 5 projects) prevail.
